PLAY@Churwell Day Nursery provides early education and childcare from 0-5 years. Be curious and see our unique approach to learning.
Our mission is to support children to develop and achieve their potential. Children are life-long learners, are naturally curious, full of knowledge and leaders in their own play-based learning. We strengthen this by providing an enriching environment which challenges and extends learning and development through exploration of the world around us.
We have an outdoor learning area with a den and lots of stimulating activities. We make use of the local environment with regular forest school sessions in the local park and for walks in the local community.
Our Caterpillars Room offers 12 places for under 2 year olds and they have direct access to their own garden space. From tummy time to crawling and those all important first steps our team will be there to support your child develop. There are dance & movement activities, messy play and lots more.
The Ladybirds Room for our 2-3 year olds offers 24 places in a large open plan space with direct access to the outdoor learning area. We offer lots of enhancement activities to give the children a wide range of experiences at nursery. This includes forest school sessions, music and dance & movement activities.
The Fireflies Room offers 32 places for 3-4 year olds in a very large open plan space. It has a built in raised platform with climbing wall with lots of spare parts to stimulate curiosity and exploration. We offer Forest School and music sessions, Spanish lessons, dance & movement, educational workshops and community outings. Fireflies is led by our Early Years Teacher to give your children an exciting and fulfilling learning experience that supports them in their transition to school. Some enhancement activities may be on hold due the panandemic, but will be resumed as soon as possible.
We offer flexible full time or sessional places either term time only or all year round with no minimum day requirement. There are no registration fees. We offer funded 15 hour sessions for eligible 2 year olds and funded 15 or 30 hours of early education for 3-4 year olds.
We have a nursery chef preparing our meat free menu and helping the children with cooking skills.
